Renewal of Vows

You may have been married 5, 10, 25, 40, 50 or more years ago. Sometimes it seems like yesterday and in other instances it feels like a lifetime ago. 

Sometimes our couples have been legally married overseas in a brief, impersonal legal service, or perhaps at a Registry Office where the heartfelt, personal aspect they now know exists, just wasn’t present.

Our Renewal of Vows ceremonies can incorporate the same vows (if you made vows and liked them) or the vows you’d have liked to have made to each other if only there was the opportunity to do so.

It’s such a privilege sitting with the couples we meet, hearing their stories and planning their ceremonies. We hear how they met, and who made the first move, and how the friendship (and relationship) developed, and how the proposal happened…and what life has been like since.

Sometimes we’ve been honoured to renew the vows of couples who doubted they’d make it, and have actually renewed their love and interest in each other, as well as their vows. This can happen after rocky times or after having kids and raising a family seems to have pushed ‘coupledom’ into the background. Yes, you really can fall in love all over again.

We’ve loved hearing many very special stories over the years – and one that touched me was a man who remembered exactly what his (now) wife was wearing when he first sighted her 25 years earlier, and he relived that same sense of excitement and anticipation as he re-told his story.

Our renewal of vows ceremonies are very similar to the wedding ceremonies we create – if that’s what you’d like of course – and we delight in bringing your reason for being together, to life in your specially-created ceremony.
